The incident occurred on May 18, 2019, at approximately 6:15 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the Superlodge motel located at 1213 West Avenue in New Castle. Through further investigation, it was determined that a resident of the motel, 29-year-old Leovardo Dominguez-Amezquita was highly intoxicated while displaying a handgun in the vicinity of adults and children, according to Delaware State Police.
