Seaford Man Thrown From His Vehicle During Sunday Morning Crash Dies

Millsboro – Officials are investigating a fatal crash involving a single vehicle that occurred early this morning.

Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe said the Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating an incident that occurred on May 19, 2019, at approximately 12:55 a.m., when a 2008 Hyundai Accent was traveling eastbound on Laurel Road just west of Curley Drive at an apparent high rate of speed. The operator failed to negotiate a moderate left curve and drove off the north edge of the roadway into a ditch and struck a utility pole. The operator and sole occupant was ejected from the vehicle following the collision.

The operator of the Hyundai, a 38-year-old male from Seaford was not properly restrained and pronounced deceased at the scene. His name is being withheld pending the notification of next of kin.

Laurel Road was closed for approximately 3 hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
