Update: Child On Scooter Struck By Vehicle In Newark-Area

At 1:00 this afternoon rescue crews from the Christiana Fire Company, New Castle County Paramedics and Trooper 4 responded to the 200 block of Bell Ringer Court for reports of a pedestrian struck.

Upon arrival, crews learned that a 9-year-old child on a scooter, riding without a helmet, was struck by a vehicle traveling at an unknown speed.

The child is currently en route to A.I Dupont Hospital via ground ambulance with what are believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.

Trooper 4, originally dispatched to the scene was recalled.

Christiana Fire Company’s Deputy Fire Chief Andrew McPartland (Deputy 6) had command of the incident.
