Police: Dover Man Assaulted After Finding Burglary Suspect In His Home

The Dover Police Department is investigating a residential burglary that occurred early Monday morning, according to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.

Hoffman said at approximately 12:29, a man returned to his home and discovered an unknown black male suspect in the stairwell of his home. The suspect punched and kicked the victim before fleeing on foot. The victim sustained minor injuries but refused medical treatment. The suspect was described as being a black male, over 20 years of age, average build, wearing a t-shirt and shorts.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact the Dover Police Department at (302)736-7130. Callers may remain anonymous.
