Troopers: Man Walking Down The Street Robbed At Gunpoint

New Castle – The Delaware State Police are currently investigating an armed robbery that occurred Saturday morning, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said on June 29, 2019, at approximately 4:39 a.m., Troopers responded to a local area hospital in reference to a 23-year-old male victim who had been transported by EMS after being assaulted.

Further investigation revealed that at approximately 3:44 a.m., the victim was walking in the area of 3000 block of New Castle Avenue when he was approached by an unknown male and female who demanded money from him. When the victim refused to turn over any money, the male suspect displayed a handgun and the female suspect struck the victim with an unknown object, said Jaffe. The suspects obtained an undisclosed amount of cash from the victim’s possession and fled the scene on foot.

Jaffe said the victim was treated at the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
