Free Community Concerts Return To The Lewes Ferry Terminal

LEWES, Del. – Cape May – Lewes Ferry officials recently announced that the famed summer lawn concert series at the Lewes Ferry Terminal has returned for its fifth consecutive summer season.  Beginning Thursday, July 11, these FREE outdoor community concert series will be held on spacious lawn located adjacent to the Lewes terminal building and will feature four amazing cover bands.  The concerts, which start at 5:30 p.m. and conclude at 8:30 p.m. will be held every other Thursday through August.

“If you’re looking for a break from the ordinary, our free community concert series is for you,” said Yelena Kretova, Lewes terminal manager. “Great views, family friendly environment and free live music – that’s an unbeatable combination.  Come out and join us to relax, unwind, and have some fun!”

Kretova added that the Terminal also has plenty of free parking available and dock space for those who wish to come by boat.

Carry-in alcoholic beverages are not permitted, but food and beverages can be purchased from the Ferry’s outdoor bar and grill “On the Rocks,” the terminals new “Off-Centered On the Rocks” waterfront park featuring Dogfish Head beers, or inside the Lewes passenger terminal. It is recommended for guests attending to bring your own beach towel or lawn chair to relax on during the event and watch the Delaware Bay sunset. The concerts will be held rain or shine.

 Funsters – July 11 and August 22 (5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.):  Even after over 20 years of performing together, the Funsters continue to bring the fun to every performance. The Beat Tells – July 25 (5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.): Based in the Philadelphia area, the Beat Tells are an exceptional Beatle Tribute Band whose performances include costume changes representing all eras of the Beatles career. Recreate the energy, the excitement, the anticipation, the fun, frolic, humor and most of all, the dynamic musical production of the Beatles’ live performances from years of 1962-1966 with The Beat Tells!  Lower Case Blues – August 8 (5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.):  Lower Case Blues is a beautiful fusion of blues-based rock woven together with jazz and deep percussion and bass melodies. The three-man band have been making music together for over 15 years since their start in 2003. They have played in several areas across Delaware and the tri-state area bringing great music and energy to all local communities. Ken Boulden – July 30, August 13 and August 20 (5 p.m. – 7 p.m.): Ken Boulden and Rick Griffin are a duo who can be called an updated version of the Smothers Brothers – delivering fan-favorite songs from the 50s and 70s including genres of country and classic rock. They also enjoy playing modern contemporary pieces relatable to younger audiences. Not only are these dynamic duo’s incredibly seasoned musical artists, but they perform comedy skits in-between songs on their sets. With amazing talent, experience and great audience interaction, they are sure to light up any stage they’re on!

 Dale Teat – July 23 and August 6 (5 p.m. – 7p.m.): Dale Teat is the front-singer and manager of Dover-based band Glass Onion. Dale Teat brings a sizzling solo performance with the rhythmic and upbeat tempo of his saxophone and piano duo. Playing covers of various genres and eras, from pop dance classics of the 1950s to modern day hits of 2018.
