Just before 9 p.m. on Saturday, Wilmington Police received a report of a vehicle that struck a building in the 500 block of Delaware Avenue.
Responding officers located that vehicle, which was occupied by a 23-year-old gunshot victim who was transported to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Wilmington Police are assisting with the investigation of this fatal shooting, which a preliminary investigation indicates took place on I-95 outside of Wilmington Police jurisdiction officials said.
No other injuries have been reported.

Wilmington – Rescue crews from the Wilmington Fire Department have responded to the area of 500 W 11TH ST, for reports of a vehicle into a building.
Additional reports indicate that a shooting has occurred in the same general area. It’s unclear at this time if the incidents are related.
