Man Shoplifted At Same Pharmacy In Less Than 24-Hours

Wilmington Police have arrested and charged a man in connection with two shoplifting incidents at the same pharmacy in less than 24 hours.

On June 17 at approximately 2:12 p.m., police were called to the Walgreens location in the 1000 block of Delaware Avenue in reference to a shoplifting complaint. Officers learned that a man had stolen products from the store and fled the area, police said.

On June 18 at approximately 11:19 a.m., police received a call about another shoplifting incident that had taken place at the same location and observed 36-year-old Frederick Everett in the 900 block of North Van Buren Street, according to police. Everett was taken into custody without incident and recovered the products that had been stolen from the pharmacy.

Upon further investigation, police identified Everett as the suspect in the June 17 shoplifting incident, and have charged him accordingly, officials said.

Everett has been charged with two counts of shoplifting, and was also processed on eight outstanding capiases. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Courts 11 and 20 for the above offenses and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution in reference to his outstanding capiases.
