One Of The Delmarva Power Contractors Gunned Down In Wilmington Has Died

One of the Delmarva Power contractors shot on Monday has succumbed to his injuries.

At approximately 1:30: pm on Monday police officers located two male gunshot victims in the 1800 block of West 2nd Street., who were both transported to the hospital for treatment. One of the victims, a 48-year-old male, was listed in stable condition at the time. The second victim, 31-year-old Dupree Burroughs of Smyrna, .originally listed in critical condition. has passed away, police said on Wednesday.

Burroughs was part of a crew installing new gas main and service lines in the Hilltop neighborhood.

Breaking Report

Wilmington – At around 1:30 this afternoon rescue crews from the Wilmington Fire Department along with New Castle County Medics and  Wilmington Police responded to the 100 block of North Scott Street for reports of a shooting.

Radio traffic indicates that two separate medic units were dispatched to for a total of two patients.

One patient is currently en route to the trauma center reportedly suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
