Troopers Update Double Shooting At Wilmington Restaurant

Wilmington, Delaware – The Delaware State Police are currently investigating a shooting incident that occurred this afternoon, according to Director of Public Information, Sergeant Richard Bratz.

The preliminary investigation has determined that on Wednesday, July 17, 2019, at approximately 2:49 p.m., troopers were dispatched to the Market Street Grill located at 4304 North Market Street, Wilmington for a shooting with two male victims. Prior to police arrival, it was learned that the two victims were transported via personal vehicle to the hospital. Troopers responded to the hospital where two victims, a 26-year-old and 38-year old both of Wilmington, were being treated for gunshot wounds.

The suspect has not been identified at this time.

Breaking Report

Wilmington – Wilmington Police along with Delaware State Police have responded to 4304 N Market Street for reports of a shooting.

Police are currently on scene investigating gunfire that erupted sometime around 3:00 this afternoon  in the area of the Market Street Grill,

Officials have cordoned off the scene with yellow police tape and are currently working the investigation.

Employees at a business across the street from the restaurant tell First State Update that they did not hear any gunshots. It was totally unexpected, the police just flew in here from all different directions, said one employee.

At this time it’s not clear if any of the shots were fired inside or if anyone was injured. Witnesses at the scene said that there are shell casings in the street.
