Rapist Sentenced To Five Years In Prison

An Elsmere man has been sentenced for rape, strangulation, and resisting arrest.

During a January argument in New Castle, Justin Stetter, 22, hit, bit and strangled his then-girlfriend before forcing her into the backseat of their car and sexually assaulting her.

Stetter pleaded guilty to Rape Fourth Degree, Strangulation, and Resisting Arrest. He was sentenced by a Superior Court judge to 5 years in prison, followed by 18 months of probation.

He will be required to register as a Tier 2 sex offender, complete a certified domestic violence course, and undergo mental health and substance abuse evaluations and any resultant treatments.
