Milford- The Delaware State Police have arrested an Upper Marlboro, MD man on multiple felony charges following a domestic-related incident, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the incident occurred on August 25, 2019, at approximately 9:00 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to Thawley Lane in Milford in reference to a domestic-related burglary.

Upon arrival, Troopers met with a 31-year-old female victim who advised that while she and her two children were driving in a vehicle driven by her boyfriend, 29-year-old Kyle M. Gibbons then drove the victim and her children to the children’s father’s residence located on Thawley Lane, according to Jaffe. The victim and her children were able to exit the vehicle unharmed and without further incident.

Jaffe said Gibbons, who initially left the area after dropping the victim and children off, returned and attempted to break into the residence on Thawley Lane, which was unoccupied at the time. Gibbons kicked in the front door and entered the residence for a short time, Jaffe continued. Upon exiting the residence, Gibbons kicked the overhead garage door causing damage to same before fleeing the area.

Gibbons was located in his vehicle a short time later in the parking lot of Bayhealth Sussex. He was taken into custody without incident and transported back to Troop 7 where he was charged with the following:

Burglary Second Degree
Strangulation
Unlawful Imprisonment
