Wilmington Police Arrest Philadelphia Man On Gun, Drug Charges

Wilmington Police have arrested and charged a Philadelphia man following a gun and drug investigation.

On August 7 at approximately 8:16 p.m., members of the Drug, Organized Crime and Vice Division were in the 800 block of West 3rd Street when they observed 22-year-old Luis Quiles, of Philadelphia.

Police contacted Quiles and found him to be in possession of a .40-caliber semi-automatic handgun with an extended magazine, along with ammunition and a bag of marijuana with a weight of 1.8 grams, according to police.

Quiles was taken into custody without incident, and has been charged with the following offenses:

Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited (Three Counts)
Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
Possession of Marijuana

He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11, and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $33,100 cash-only bail.
