“Did You Guys Lose Your Pet?”, Man In Silver Van Approached Children At Bus Stop

Yesterday, patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the area of Roxeter Rd and Tavernier Dr, in the community of Castle Hills, for a report of a suspicious vehicle, according to police.

Officials said when the officers arrived at the scene they learned that a silver van driven by a white male pulled up to at least 5 teenagers waiting for the bus for William Penn HS.

Witnesses reported that he opened rear passenger sliding door and asked, “Did you guys lose your pet?” They then saw what appeared to be a raccoon in a cage in the back of the van, according to police.

The witnesses stated that said that no one said anything to him, and he closed the door, said have a nice day a drove off.

The patrol officers were able to locate the last witness last night and were able to establish that none of the witnesses were asked or told by the driver to get into the van.
