New Castle – Just after 4:00 this afternoon rescue crews from the Wilmington Manor Fire Company along with New Castle County Paramedics and Delaware State Police responded to the 700 block Hamburg Road for reports of a motor vehicle accident.

While crews were en route they learned that the patient was receiving life-saving treatment from either Troopers or good Samaritans on scene.

Radio reports indicate that one vehicle left the road and struck a tree.

State Police have closed the road between Route 9 and Route 13.

The road is expected to be closed for an extended period of time.

This is a developing story.
