Just after 12:10 this afternoon rescue crews from the Christiana Fire Company responded to Old Baltimore Pike at Albe Drive for a motorcycle crash.
Arriving ambulance crews immediately transported the patient to the Trauma Center at Christiana Hospital.
Troopers have alerted dispatch that old Baltimore Pike is closed in both directions between Route 72 and Salem Church Road.
Early reports indicate that someone hit the rider and they were ejected from the bike.
Avoid the area.
Update: The roadway has been reopened.
