New Castle City Police Rescue Residents From House Fire Saturday

Just after 9:00 Saturday evening, firefighters from across New Castle County responded to the 200 block of Brylgon Avenue for reports of a house fire.

While en route crews learned that New Castle City Police Officers were inside the home attempting to rescue a patient from the second floor. Officers were reporting that there was smoke in the home due to a fire in the living room.

Shortly after the initial report, the officers alerted responding firefighters that everyone was now out of the home and that the fire was believed to be out.

Upon their arrival, crews reported smoke showing from the two-story home and within minutes the living room fire was placed under control.

Command reported that a total of four patients, including one child, were being evaluated for injuries. New Castle County Paramedics reported that the patients were a 57-year-old-male, a 61-year-old-male, a 65-year-old-female, and a 1-month-old-male. All patients were evaluated on scene and declined transport to the hospital.

Fire Marshal’s also responded to the fire to investigate.
