Police Investigating Motor Vehicle Crash Involving A Bicycle

New Castle – Yesterday, September 14, 2019, the New Castle County Division of Police Traffic Services Unit was tasked with investigating a crash that involved a gray Nissan Altima and a bicycle. The crash occurred at the intersection of Wilton Boulevard and Old Forge Road, in the community of Wilton Club Apartments.

When the investigators arrived, they learned that both the vehicle and the bicycle were traveling northbound on Wilton boulevard. The operator of the bicycle was found to have moved into the center lane and struck the Nissan on the rear fender. Officers and emergency medical personnel administered first aid before the patient was transported to the hospital where he was admitted.

The patient was not wearing a helmet and sustained serious life-threatening injuries officials said.

Police did not release the victim’s age.
