Troopers: Burger King Robbed At Gunpoint On Monday

Claymont- The Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at a Claymont Burger King on Monday morning, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Juanita Huey-Smith.

Huey-Smith said the incident occurred at approximately 6:45 a.m., Monday, September 9, 2019, at the Burger King, located at 2911 Philadelphia Pike. The suspect, who had his face concealed, approached an employee in the store, displayed a handgun and demanded cash from the safe, according to Huey-Smith. The employee complied with the demand and turned over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect, who then fled on foot southbound on Philadelphia Pike. The employee was not injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect was described as a 25 to 30-year-old black male, 5’7”-5’8”, 130-140 pounds, a fabric covering his face and in possession of a handgun.
