Troopers: Man Charged With Striking Wife With Car Jack

Dagsboro- The Delaware State Police have arrested 33-year-old Scott M. Anderson in connection with a domestic-related assault, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the incident occurred on September 22, 2019, at approximately 10:25 a.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the 30000 block of Back Bay Drive, Dagsboro for a report of a domestic-related assault.

Upon arrival, Troopers met with a 39-year-old male victim who advised that he and his brother, Scott Anderson had engaged in a verbal argument. The argument escalated and became physical and Anderson’s wife attempted to intervene when she was struck by her husband with a car jack, according to Jaffe. There were two children present in the residence during this incident. The male victim did not sustain injury and the female victim sustained minor injuries, however, she declined medical treatment at the scene.

Anderson had fled the residence in a vehicle prior to police arrival and was later located outside in the area of the 30000 block of E. Lagoon Road in Dagsboro. A computer inquiry revealed that Anderson did not have a valid license. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to Troop 4 where he was charged with the following:

Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
Assault Second Degree
Endangering the Welfare of a Child (2 counts)
Offensive Touching
Driving Without a Valid License
Anderson was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution on $72,020.00 cash-only bond.
