Driver Trapped In Wednesday Night Crash In Critical Condition

Yesterday, Oct 16, 2019, at around 8:00 pm patrol officers from the New Castle County Police along with New Castle County Paramedics, Cranston Heights Fire Company, Hockessin Fire Company – Station 19 and Minquas Fire Company #1 of Newport were dispatched to the area of 2700 Barley Mill Road in Wilmington for a motor vehicle collision with a subject trapped.

Upon their arrival crews found a single vehicle off of the roadway into the wood line. Multiple personnel worked to extricate the trapped driver. Once freed the driver was transported by EMS personnel to ChristianaCare Emergency Department in critical condition.

Detectives from The New Castle County Divison of Police Traffic Services Unit have assumed the investigation.
