Happening Now: I-495 SB Closed Due To Crash, HAZMAT Incident

Claymont – Firefighters from the Claymont Fire Company have responded to I-495 SB at Philidelphia Pike for a crash involving a tractor-trailer.

Arriving crews are reporting that diesel fuel is leaking from the truck’s 7000-gallon tank.

Command had asked for the Belvedere Fire company HAZMAT unit and has ordered the road closed.

Update: Troopers are reporting that the driver of a green pickup involved in the accident fled on foot.
