Happening Now: Reports Of A Collapsed Structure In Dover

Dover – Just after 6:15 Saturday evening rescue crews from the Dover Fire Department, along with the surrounding fire companies were dispatched to the 300 block of South State Street for reports a building collapse.

Shortly after their arrival, Dover Fire officials recalled all other responding crews and held the incident to their department.

It’s not clear exactly what has occurred. Radio reports indicated that bricks, possibly from the facade, may have collapsed.

Crews reported that one resident had made it out and that they were cheeking for others.

Dover Command has requested, gas and electric crews along with the fire marshall and building inspection officials.

Update: Red Cross has been contacted so it appears that residents will be displaced.

Update: Command has asked for the water department to respond to shut off the water.

Update: The fire marshall has ordered the road closed.
