Red Lion – Just before 8:00 this morning rescue crews, New Castle County Police and Trooper 4 responded to the 600 block of Parkman Court in the Red Lion Chase Development for reports of a shooting.
County Police have not released many details surrounding the incident. They did send out a Tweet shortly after the incident occurred that read “Police activity in the area of Parkman Court. Seek alternative routes More updates to follow”.
One patient was treated by EMTs and medics before being placed on Trooper 4, Delaware State Police Aviation, at the intersection of McCoy Road and Wrangle Hill Road.
Trooper 4 then transported the patient to the Trauma Center at Christiana Hospital in critical condition.
The incident caused authorities to place Kathleen H. Wilbur Elementary School on lockdown for a short period of time.
