At around 6:45 Wednesday evening, October 9, 2019, rescue crews from the Miquas Fire Company responded to the 7-Eleven located at 201 W Market Street in Newport for reports of a stabbing.
Initial reports from the scene indicated that one person was stabbed in the torso, however, New Castle County Police have not released details surrounding the incident.
A First State Update reader said that the ambulance left shortly after arrival. Firefighters also cleared the scene to respond to a house fire in Newark shortly after arrival.
