Man Charged In Overview Gardens Shots Fired Incident

On September 29, 2019 patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to the area of Briarcliff Drive in the community of Overview Gardens for a report of multiple shots being fired. When the officers arrived, they discovered an unoccupied vehicle that had been struck by gunfire. Multiple people came forward reporting that they were in the line of fire at the time of the shooting.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit then arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation. Ultimately, ballistic evidence was recovered, and the officers were able to take 22-year-old Aaron Hill into custody, according to police.

Aaron Hill was charged with: two counts of felony Reckless Endangering 1st Degree, once count of felony Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, one count of felony Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, and one count of misdemeanor Criminal Mischief.

He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 11 and held in lieu of $42,100 cash bail.
