Troopers Investigating Armed Robbery At Dover Dollar General

Dover- The Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at a Dollar General store last evening, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the incident occurred on October 6, 2019, at approximately 7:40 p.m., when Troopers responded to the Dollar General store located at 250 Gateway South Boulevard, Dover, for a report of a robbery. Upon arrival, Troopers met with a female employee who advised that a male suspect approached the counter, removed a knife from his sweatshirt, pointed it at her and demanded money. The employee opened the registered when the suspect grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash, threatened to kill the employee and then fled the scene, according to Jaffe. The employee was not injured as a result of this incident.

The suspect was described as a white male, approximately 6’00” tall, wearing a hooded sweatshirt, dark-colored pants and armed with a knife. The suspect fled the area on foot towards the Food Lion located in the same strip mall.

Radio traffic indicated that Troopers were using a K-9 unit along with Trooper 2 to assist in the search for the suspect.
