US Marshal’s Arrest Dover Man For Milford Shots Fired Incident

Milford Police have arrested a Dover man following a September shooting in Brightway Commons, according to Sgt. Robert Masten.

Masten. said on September 05, 2019, at approximately 12:34 am officers from the Milford Police Department’s Patrol Division responded Brightway Commons to investigate a possible shots fired incident.

The investigation developed William Harris, 28 of Dover, as one of the individuals allegedly involved, according to Masten.

During the incident, several rounds struck an unoccupied vehicle.  The Investigation revealed that Harris allegedly removed evidence from the scene prior to fleeing, according to Masten. A Warrant was obtained for his arrest and on October 8, 2019, Harris was apprehended by the United States Marshal’s First State Fugitive Task Force in Milford.

He has been charged with Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, Possession of a Weapon in a Safe School Zone, Giving a Firearm to Person Prohibited, Tampering With Physical Evidence, Conspiracy Second Degree, and Criminal Mischief Over $1000.

Harris was presented at the Justice of the Peace Court #2, where bail was set at $67,500.00 secured.

He was committed to the Sussex Correctional Institution and is scheduled to appear at the Kent County Court of Common Pleas next week.
