Happening Now: Massive House Fire In New Castle

New Castle – Just before 8:00 this morning firefighters from the Minquadale fire Company along with crews from across New Castle County responding to a house fire in the unit block of Newport Avenue in West Minquadale.

Upon their arrival crews reported a working fire and began and began their attack while simultaneously conducting a search for victims. No one was found in the home.

A column of heavy black smoke rising from the fire turned to a large plume of white smoke as firefighters worked to bring the fire under control.

At around 8:30 Minquadale Command placed the fire under control, with firefighters working to mop up hotspots.

Fire marshals have responded to the scene to investigate the origin of the fire.
