Armed Robbers Take Over Liquor Store Near Thursday’s Brutal Murder Scene

Wilmington – The Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at a Wilmington area liquor store on Tuesday night, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.

Austin said the incident occurred at approximately 8:29 p.m., Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at Deep Liquors, located at 3802 Lancaster Pike in Wilmington. Two male suspects, who both had their faces concealed, entered the business and confronted two employees.

Suspect #1 who was in possession of a handgun, ordered one of the victims at gunpoint to lay on the floor and ordered the second victim to open the register.

The victim’s complied and the suspects then removed an undisclosed amount of cash from the register. The suspect’s also removed alcohol and tobacco products from the display before fleeing eastbound towards the City of Wilmington. Neither victim was injured as a result of the incident.

Suspect #1 was described as a black male, 18-30 years of age, wearing all dark clothing to include a fabric covering his face.

Suspect #2 was described as a black male, 18-25 years of age, also wearing all dark clothing to include a fabric covering his face.

Last week a 42-year-old Newark man was gunned down two blocks away on Simca Lane. County Police have yet to release details surrounding that murder.
