Happening Now: Crash Closes Route 4 WB In Newport, One Trapped

Newport  – Just before 2:20 this afternoon rescue crews from the Miquas and Mill Creek Fire Companies responded to the 2000 block of Newport Pike (Route 4) for a vehicle crash with injuries.

One patient was trapped after their vehicle slammed into a utility pole. That patient has been extricated and is en route to the Trauma Center.

The westbound lanes of Route 4 are currently closed as Troopers investigate the crash.
