Just In: Three Injured In Route 1 Crash Late Tuesday

Townsend – Just after 10:00 last evening, Tuesday, December 17, 2019, rescue crews from the Townsend and Odessa Fire Companies along Kent County Medics, American Legion’s Ambulances and Trooper 4 responded to Route 1 southbound in the area of the Frederick Lodge Trailer Park for reports of a pedestrian struck.

Command reported a total of three patients injured, one of which would need to be airlifted.

While en route to the scene, Trooper 4 was alerted that they would be utilized for transport and the pilot was instructed to land in the northbound lanes near the scene.

During the call, crews referred to construction work in the area. At this time it’s not clear if any of the patients were part of the construction crew.

All three patients are belied to have been transported to an area hospital.
