Troopers Investigating Armed Robbery At Newark Royal Farms

Newark – The Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred early this morning at a Newark area Royal Farms, according to Public Information Officer, Senior Corporal Jason Hatchell.

Hatchell said the incident occurred this morning, December 26, 2019, at approximately 1:50 a.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the Royal Farms located at 2812 Pulaski Highway in Newark, for a report of an armed robbery.

Upon arrival, Troopers made contact with an employee who advised a white male approached the cash register and displayed a black handgun from his waistline. The employee opened the register and the suspect reached over the counter and removed an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect fled the store in an unknown direction. The employee was not injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect was described as a white male approximately 30-40 years of age, wearing a black knit hat and jacket.
