Route 40 WB Shut Down After Crash Involving County Police Vehicle

County Police have closed the wb lanes of Route 40 while they investigate an accident involving one of their vehicles.

At around 1:18 rescue crews along with Trooper 4 were dispatched to Route 40 at Walther Road for a vehicle crash with injuries.

Two patients were transported to Christiana Hospital. No information on injuries is available at this time.

New Castle County Police released the following statement:

“New Castle County Police have shut down Route 40 westbound at Governor Square and have shut down southbound Walther Road to Pierce Run for an accident investigation that occurred in the intersection of Walther Road and Route 40.”
