Three Charged With Assaulting And Robbing Victims In Georgetown

Georgetown – The Georgetown Police Department has arrested two Delaware men and a Maryland woman after a robbery investigation which occurred Monday afternoon, according to Public Information Officer Detective Joey Melvin.

Melvin said at approximately 12:55 p.m., Georgetown Police responded to the Western Union on the 100 Block of North Race Street for a robbery complaint.

Officers contacted the victims who advised they were inside a nearby apartment complex when they were approached by three subjects.

The subjects began physically assaulting one of the victims at which time the other victim attempted to intervene. The three subjects continued assaulting both victims and during the incident, took a victim’s wallet, said Melvin.

All three suspects then fled the scene. Officers were able to gather descriptions of the suspects as well as the suspect’s vehicle and located them a short time later. Officers stopped the suspect vehicle in the area of Depot Street in Georgetown and took all three into custody without incident.

Kyle Lynch, 29 of Georgetown, Daniel Santana, 30 of Georgetown and Rebecca Russell, 35 of Quantico, Maryland were all charged with Robbery 2nd Degree, Assault 3rd Degree and Conspiracy.

All three suspects were committed to Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of $8000.00 secured bond.
