Troopers Identify Two Found Dead In Bowers Beach Parking Lot, Suspected Murder-Suicide

Frederica Delaware State Police are releasing the names of the two individuals that were found deceased in the parking lot area of Bowers Beach, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Melissa Jaffe.

Jaffe said the investigation began on February 22, 2020 at approximately 4:04 p.m., when Troopers were dispatched to the parking lot area off of Cooper Avenue, Bowers Beach, Frederica.  Upon arrival, two individuals were located deceased in the parking lot from apparent gunshot wounds.

The individuals have been identified as 55-year-old Kenneth J. Bowers and his wife, 40-year-old Lysandra C. Bowers, of Frederica, DE.

The bodies have been turned over to the Division of Forensic Science where an autopsy will be performed to determine the manner and cause of death.

The Delaware State Police Homicide Unit is continuing its investigation into this suspected murder/suicide incident and there are no concerns for public safety at this time.
