Just In: Crash Closes Coastal Highway In Milton, Serious Injuries Reported

Delaware State Police are currently investigating a serious crash that has caused the partial closure of  Coastal Highway.

Just before 3:00, Saturday afternoon rescue crews from the Lewes Fire Department along with Sussex County Medics and  Delaware State Troopers responded to the southbound lanes of Coastal Highway in the area of Hudson Road for reports of a motor vehicle rollover with entrapment.

Arriving crews confirmed entrapment and began work to free the patients. Early indications are that three patients are very seriously injured.  Multiple vehicles are involved.

As a result of the crash all southbound lanes of Coastal Highway are closed. Motorists will experience extensive delays in the area and are advised to seek alternate routes of travel. There is no estimated time for re-opening of the roadway.
