Police: Burglary Suspect Chased Down By Store Owner After He Smashes Window With Brick Released

The Dover Police Department arrested Jeffrey Hayman (38) on Monday morning for a burglary at the Puffster shop on West Loockerman Street, according to M/Cpl. Mark Hoffman, Public Information Officer.

Hoffman said at approximately 1:22AM, officers received a call that Hayman had broken the front window to the business with a brick and had fled with items. Officers were also advised that the owner was chasing the suspect on foot. Arriving officers located Hayman and took him into custody, also recovering the stolen merchandise.

 

Hayman was charged with:
-Burglary 3rd Degree
-Theft Under $1,500
-Criminal Mischief over $1,500

He was released on a $3,000 unsecured bond.
