Just In: Skeletal Remains Found In Wooded Area, Investigation Underway

Last evening, Monday, March 2, 2019 rescue crews were called to a wooded area along Polybranch Road just north of Roxana Road for a medical call.

While en route crews asked if police were already on scene. Shortly after their arrival, they turned the scene over to the Delaware State Police.

Tuesday morning the Delaware State Police said they were conducting a death investigation after skeletal remains were located in a wooded area off of Polybranch Road in Selbyville.

Officials said at approximately 6:12 p.m., Troopers responded to Polybranch Road just north of Roxana Road, Selbyville, after an individual discovered human remains in a wooded area. Detectives responded to the scene and confirmed them to be human skeletal remains.

The remains have been turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science where an autopsy will be performed to determine the identification and cause and manner of death.
