Limestone Road WAWA Employee Test Positive For COVID-19 Prompting Store Closure

Earlier this afternoon, First State Update readers began reporting that the Limestone Road WAWA was closed.

WAWA issued the following statement after we contacted them.

Wawa has been notified by an associate who recently worked in our store located at 2030 Limestone Rd. Wilmington, DE 19808 that they have received a positive test result for COVID-19.

In accordance with its protocols, Wawa took immediate action and closed the store to have it professionally deep cleaned and disinfected. The store will reopen as soon as possible with associates from neighboring stores, if needed.

We are working with the local Department of Health regarding notifications to anyone who may have had close contact with the associate. The last day the associate worked was Thursday, March 19.

As always, the health and safety of our customers and associates is a top priority. We will do everything we can to support our associate, including providing paid time off, and take all necessary steps to monitor, safeguard and protect all our associates and customers.
