Teen Charged With Walgreens Knifepoint Robbery

Wilmington The Delaware State Police have arrested a 17-year-old male of Wilmington, in connection with the knifepoint robbery of a Wilmington area Walgreens pharmacy.

The incident occurred at approximately 8:45 p.m., Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the Walgreens-Chestnut Run, located at 1710 Faulkland Rd. A male suspect confronted an employee behind the sales counter while brandishing a knife and demanded money from the register. The employee complied with the demand and turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect who then fled on foot. The employee was not injured as a result of the incident.

Through investigative measures, the teen was identified as the suspect.  On March 27, 2020, He was taken into custody without incident at his residence located in the 2000 block of Peachtree Drive, Woodland Park, Wilmington.  He was transported back to Troop 2 where he was charged with the following:

  • Robbery First Degree
  • Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony
  • Wearing a Disguise During the Commission of a Felony

He was arraigned before the Justice of the Peace Court and committed to the New Castle County Detention Center on $66000.00 cash-only bond.
