Georgetown Fire Company Shares Photos From Thursday House Fire

The Delaware Office of the State Fire Marshal is investigating a structure fire that damaged a single-family dwelling in Georgetown, Delaware on Thursday, according to Chief Deputy State Fire Marshal John Galaska.

Galaska said the fire, reported shortly after 9:00 A.M. , occurred to the structure in the 18000 block of Gravel Hill Road. The Georgetown Fire Company (GFC) arrived on the scene and found heavy smoke and flames coming from the structure. Mutual aid fire companies responded along with GFC to assisted at the scene.

State fire investigators were called to the scene and performed an investigation to determine the fire’s origin and cause. The cause of the fire remains under investigation at his time.

Fire damage is estimated at $100,000. The home was unoccupied at the time fo the fire. There were no reported injuries.
