Hundreds Without Power After Storm Topples Trees, Utility Poles In New Castle County

New Castle County – Residents across New Castle County are waking up to find their home in the dark.

Late Thursday night a storm carrying heavy winds and hail ripped trough New Castle County knocking down trees, utility poles and causing damage to homes.

Delmarva Power is reporting that obe 1,200 customers remain without power this morning.

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly, New Jersey says that a Wind Advisory remains in effect today. Another round of wind gusts of at least 40-50 mph are expected Sunday night into Mondal. Model guidance is indicating that this could be a significant, high-impact event for the area.
