Live In Newark? Police Union Giving Away Grocery Gift Cards For Those In Need

Fraternal Order Of Police (FOP) # 4,  the union that represents the police officers of the Newark Police Department has teamed up with ACME to help those in need.

The union’s members voted to use some of their funds to partner with the grocery store company to disperse $4,100.00 in grocery gift cards. The cards, valued at $50.00 each, are intended for Newark residents who have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The pandemic has impacted the Newark community more than anyone could have imagined,”  the Union said in a statement last week. They are members of the community and want to help those that they serve.

“Although we want to help everyone, the cards will only be distributed to residents of the City of Newark,” said the Union.  Gift cards will be limited to one card per household in order to reach the greatest number of people.

The FOP is asking those in need to email them at [email protected]. You’ll need to provide them with your name, address, and a brief description of how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted your life.
