Newark Man Facing Drug Charges After Wilmington Arrest

Wilmington Police have arrested a Newark man on drug charges following a motor vehicle stop, according to officials.

Authorities said on April 14 at approximately 2:42 p.m., members of the Safe Streets Task Force were on proactive patrol in the 1300 block of West 2nd Street when officers conducted a motor vehicle stop for registration violations.

Police made contact with the driver of the vehicle, 37-year-old Newark resident Armiren Bullock, and detected a strong odor of marijuana. Police recovered packaged marijuana from the vehicle, and further investigation led to the recovery of additional marijuana from his residence, officials said Thursday. In total, police seized 527 grams of marijuana.

In addition to the motor vehicle violation, Bullock has been charged with possession of a controlled substance in a tier 1 quantity. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and released on $1,050 unsecured bail.
