Newark’s Hotspot Pizza Robbed At Gunpoint Friday Night

Newark – The Delaware State Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a Newark area pizzeria Friday night, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.

Austin said the incident occurred at approximately 8:57 p.m., Friday, April 3, 2020 at Hotspot Pizza, located at 1127 Churchman’s Road in Newark. A male suspect who was brandishing a handgun entered the business and confronted two employees at the sales counter. The suspect then removed a tip jar from the counter before fleeing on foot to the rear of the business. Neither employee was injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect was described as a white male wearing all dark clothing and in possession of a handgun.
