Shooting Of 6-Year-Old Milltown Not Related To Edgemoor Shooting Police Say

New Castle County Police (NCCPD) are investigating a Saturday evening shooting involving a child.

Officials said at 11:25 p.m., patrol officers were also dispatched to a second shooting on the 2000 block of Pickwick Drive, in the community of Limestone Gardens.

When officers arrived at this scene, they located a 6-year-old victim who had been shot in his arm while inside of the residence.

The child was transported to a local area hospital for treatment of the non-life threatening injury.

In an unusual statement released by NCCPD, officials said “At this time, detectives have been able to determine that these shootings are not related. Both are active and ongoing investigations, additional updates will follow.”, referring to an earlier shooting that injured two children in Edgemoor.

Anyone with information/or video pertaining to this investigation is asked to contact Det. Holubinka at 302-395-8110 or by e-mail at [email protected] or by calling New Castle County Police non-emergency number at 302-573-2800 or via messenger on Facebook.
