Edgemoor Gardens – On Tuesday evening, at around 7:00 p.m., patrol officers from the New Castle County Division of Police were dispatched to South Rodney Drive and the corner of Bedford Drive, in the community of Edgemoor for the report of a shooting that had just occurred.
When the officers arrived, they discovered two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to an area hospital where they are being treated for non-life-threatening leg injuries.
Police have identified the victims as a 13-year-old girl and a 17-year-old male.
Tuesday’s double shooting is the latest in a string of shootings that have plagued the community of Edgemoor Gardens over the last few years. Below is a map of the shootings that have occurred since 2018.
Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation.
