Happening Now: Bicyclist Seriously Injured After Being Struck On Route 40

Newark – Just before 2:30 Thursday afternoon a Delaware State Police Trooper came across a bicyclist that had been struck at the intersection of Wrangle Hill Road at Route 40.

Just as the Trooper was alerting dispatchers an ambulance from the Christiana Fire Company came upon the scene and quickly requested New Castle County Paramedics.

Additional crews from the Odessa Fire Company and Trooper 4 have been dispatched as well.

The patient is en route to the trauma center via ground with medics accompanying in serious condition.

Expect delays in the area.

Trooper 4 has been recalled.
