Troopers: Perp Implied He Had A Gun During New Castle Robbery

New Castle – The Delaware State Police are investigating the robbery of a New Castle area pharmacy that occurred Sunday night, according to Public Information Officer, Master Corporal Michael Austin.

Austin said the incident occurred at approximately 8:16 p.m., Sunday, May 3, 2020, at the Rite Aid pharmacy, located at 2034 New Castle Avenue. A male suspect approached an employee at the sales counter, implied that he was armed with a firearm and demanded cash from the register, according to Austin. The employee turned over an undisclosed amount of cash to the suspect who then fled on foot. No weapon was displayed, only implied. The employee was not injured as a result of the incident.

The suspect was described as a black male, 5’10”-6’1” tall, 185-200 lbs., wearing all dark clothing to include a fabric concealing his face.
